Product description: If you've been recently diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, there's no better treatment to rely on than Seroxat. Seroxat is the number one prescribed antidepressant for anxiety and gets rid of most symptoms completely in as little as 12 weeks. Seroxat is part of the family of antidepressants known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Besides anxiety disorders, Seroxat is also very effective at treating: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Depression.
How to use this product: Seroxat should be taken once a day, either in the morning or evening with or without food. Startup doses with Seroxat vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated. The normal starting dose is 10 mg to 20 mg a day. Your doctor can increase your dosage as needed. For people over the age of 65, people with kidney problems or people with compromised liver conditions, the initial startup dose is 10 mg a day.
Side effects: Seroxat is generally well tolerated by most patients. As with many medications however, there can be side effects. Some of the most common side effects are:
* Decreased appetite
* Dry mouth
* Sweating
* Nausea
* Constipation
* Sexual side effects in men and women
* Yawn
* Tremor
* Sleepiness
Precautions: DO NOT take Seroxat if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan) or tranylcypromine (Parnate) within the last 2 weeks. Serious, and sometimes fatal, reactions have occurred when these medicines have been used together. Also, before taking Seroxat, tell your doctor if you have seizures, liver disease, kidney disease, manic disorder, or thoughts of suicide. If you are pregnant or nursing, do not take Seroxat without consulting with your doctor first.
Drug interactions: DO NOT take Seroxat with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or any other type of antidepressant. Otherwise, serious side effects may occur. Before you begin taking Seroxat, be sure and tell your doctor about any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking.
